Cornerstone Center of LaSalle Street Church

Located at a crossroads between Chicago inner-city public housing complexes and some of the most expensive real estate in the country, the Cornerstone Center (Cornerstone Center) of LaSalle Street Church is a sanctuary for people from all different backgrounds. Standing adjacent to the church, Cornerstone Center hosts a wide range of events and programs to cater to its various demographics including counseling meetings and food drives for the hungry and homeless, women’s Bible study, weddings and movie nights for local children.

That’s why Tom Stringer Design Partners knew that it needed to specify commercial restroom products that could stand up to heavy traffic from a wide cross-section of users, while simultaneously delivering high quality design for the inter-denominational faith community. When the Chicago-based design firm factored in the need for water-saving features in addition to all of the other noted benefits, Sloan was the clear choice for the project.

Faithful Flushometers

Sloan Optima Plus Flushometers not only bring a hands-free and hygienic approach with their infrared sensor technology and a stylish high-tech appearance, but they also guard against “false flushes” with a user-friendly three-second flush delay and Courtesy Flush® override button. In addition to the programs it hosts on a daily basis, the facility is also home to Cornerstone Academy, a high school that serves as an alternative to the public school system for local youth. During the school year, Cornerstone Center can host up to 1,300 people per day and relies on the Optima Plus Flushometers’ low-consumption, 1.6 gpf features to keep water use to a minimum.

Divine Soap Dispensers and Faucets

Tom Stringer Design paired Sloan’s SF-2200 faucets with its ESD-700 Electronic Soap Dispenser for Cornerstone Center’s restrooms. The ADA-compliant gooseneck faucets serve as an effective complement to the polished chrome-plated soap dispensers that deliver 3,000 combined dispenses between two pre-supplied soap bottles. Each fixture features automatic operation and sturdy mounting hardware to provide a versatile restroom environment for everything from food drives for the homeless on a Wednesday night to breakfast meetings with neighborhood groups and the police commander the next morning.
